Luke 9:23-24

“And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.”

The noble martyrdom of the soul.

“Listen, my daughter, to live in my Will surpasses even martyrdom in merit. Martyrdom kills the body, but living in my Will is like a divine hand that kills one’s will, and gives one the nobility of a divine martyrdom.

And every time the soul decides to live in my Will, my Volition prepares the blow in order to kill the human will, and forms the noble martyrdom of the soul.

In fact, human will and Divine Will do not bond together – one has to give the place to the Other, and the human will must content itself with remaining extinguished under the power of the Divine Will.

So, every time you dispose yourself to live in my Volition, you dispose yourself to undergo the martyrdom of your will.

See, then, what it means to fuse oneself in my Will: it is to be the continuous martyr of my Supreme Will.”

PRAYER FOR THE DAY:

“Holy Mama, how I thank You for your beautiful lessons. I feel that they have such power over me as to make me yearn continuously to live in the Divine Will. But so that I may obtain this grace – come, descend into my soul together with Jesus; renew for me the visit you made to St. Elizabeth and the prodigies You worked for her. Ah! yes, my Mama, bring me Jesus – sanctify me. With Jesus, I will be able to do His Most Holy Will.

Holy Mama, visit my soul, and prepare in it a worthy dwelling for the Divine Will.
