Fusion with Jesus is the only way to restore our original holiness. We return to the Father through His Son Jesus, the perfect model of holiness. True God and true man, Jesus is the only mediator between His Eternal Father and man (CCC 480) as He says to John “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Jesus always did what was pleasing to the Eternal Father and lived in perfect union with Him (CCC 1693). Fused with Jesus, we attain this same union with God’s Divine Will. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that:
CCC 482 Christ, being true God and true man, has a human intellect and will, perfectly attuned and subject to his divine intellect and divine will, which he has in common with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
